Why have locks been created between the Great Lakes and the St. Lawrence River?
Shkiper50 [21]
Locks are used as a technique to connect large bodies of water with one another or to connect ports with other ports or cities with other cities. Therefore, the locks were created to connect the Great Lakes with the St. Lawrence River to allow ships to travel from the Atlantic Ocean to the Great Lakes as far as Lake Superior.

Were Gandhi and the American colonists fighting for similar values in their pushes for independence? Explain if they were, or we
kipiarov [429]
Yes because back then, India was a colony of England and basically owned by a company called the East India company with military enforcement. The people had no representation and also were forced to pay taxes such as the salt tax that ghandi famously went against during the salt March.
Likewise, the united states back then was also a colony of India and had no representation as well as had to pay taxes from laws such as the stamp act. Their values in fighting for independence and free reign were very similar. So yes.
