In why you reckon the narrator and the other man do not hold edward for ransom what was their reason.
MrRa [10]

They don't ask for ransom because they want money right away so they can eat.

Why do they need money right away?

 • The men say they are very hungry, but they don't have any money to buy food.
 • They can't get any kind of donation either and the hunger is getting hard to bear.
 • For this reason, they decide to rob a rich white man, so they would have immediate money to satisfy their hunger.

The hunger is so violent that they don't even realize they can get more money by keeping the man kidnapped and asking for a ransom payment.

This question is about "Why you Reckon" written by Langston Hughes, who was an author who used to portray the challenges of black society.

How does Scout manage to defuse the situation outside the jail without even realizing
tangare [24]
Scout unknowingly diffuses the tense situation simply by being present and attempting to politely have a conversation with Mr. Cunningham. Walter empathizes with Atticus as a father, which is why he instructs the mob to disperse without harming anyone.

What is a vivid verb
asambeis [7]
A vivid verb is a verb that evokes more vivid imagery than a more general verb. It is generally more descriptive.

For example, you can say, "The boy walked down the street." If you want to make the picture even more vivid, however, you could say "The boy sauntered down the street." In this case, "sauntered" is a vivid verb.

Hope this helps! :)

Shylock murmurs that Antonio looks like
jolli1 [7]

Answer:

A fawning publician in the given Text refers to Antonio . Fawning publician means servile Roman tax collector . Here , a publician is a much hated person i.e. a tax collector .

In Act I, Scene iii of The Merchant of Venice, explain the stanza, " How like a fawning publican he looks! I hate him for he is a Christian; But more, for that in low simplicity ..... Which he calls...

In Act I, Scene iii of The Merchant of Venice, explain the stanza, " How like a fawning publican he looks! I hate him for he is a Christian;

One of the main contentious issues in The Merchant of Venice, is the hatred between Shylock and Antonio. Each treats the other contemptuously. In this scene, Shylock and Bassanio have just made an agreement for Antonio to obtain a loan and now they will meet to discuss the terms. Shylock, aside to the audience, makes it clear how he feels about him.

He is like "a fawning publican" a grovelling tax collector. Although a publican is traditionally someone who owns a bar or a tavern as it would have been called in those days, in ancient times a publican was the hated and much-aligned collector of taxes so Shylock is comparing Antonio to that. Shylock goes on to say "but more for that.." his contempt goes much further. "He is a Christian." He also lends money to others "gratis;" in other words, free of any charges or interest. The "rate of usance" is the rate at which money lenders are allowed to claim interest on the loans.

Which ONE is a better poem like which one has more methods and techniques that you can write about???
adoni [48]

Answer: If you're asking which might be easier to write about I would say exposure because it uses more advanced words which make it sound nicer to write about and it also is a little easier to understand what it is talking about which should help you with writing on it. I personally prefer Exposure but it's your choice.
