a)  On 1st December 1955 Rosa Parks, an African American woman was arrested for refusing to move to the back of the bus. This triggered a citywide boycott of the bus system. Segregation laws required blacks to sit at the back of the bus and parks. This encouraged Montgomery Improvement Association to boycott on the bus system. After 381 days, the supreme court declared the segregated seating laws unconstitutional.
In 1962 the U.S supreme court decided in the Bailey v. Patterson that racial segregation in transport facilities was unconstitutional.

Over 200,000 whites and blacks congregated or a peaceful march in Washington D.C. During this day Martin Lurther King Jr gave his famous speech "I have a dream" that became a slogan for freedom and equality.

c) Massive Resistance is an example of a resistance by whites against the civil rights movements of people who were truly opposed to; the increasing minority rights by believing that Blacks could not handle a lot of freedom, therefore more freedom would destroy the ''white race'' while some were afraid of change.

Answer: B. It decides if any constitutional rights were violated in a given situation.

What problem did Castro’s victory cause?
elena55 [62]

The problem that Castro's victory caused is option(b)i.e, The Soviets were losing control of their satellite states.

Fidel Castro, a politician and communist revolutionary from Cuba, participated in the Cuban Revolution from 1953 to 1959. As a result of his early experiences, Castro made the decision to launch "The Movement," a paramilitary group, in order to fight for the fall of Fulgencio Batista's military government.

As a staunch Marxist-Leninist, Castro was committed to transforming Cuba and the rest of the world from a capitalist economy in which private individuals own the means of production into a socialist one in which the workers own the means of production.

However, the Spanish withdrew from the island in 1898 as a result of the Spanish-American War, and after three and a half years of subsequent US military control, Cuba officially attained independence in 1902.
