I think you mean \frac{5^{-1}}{5^0}

ok, know some stuff
x^0=1 for all real values of x
x^{-m}=\frac{1}{x^m}

so

\frac{5^{-1}}{5^0}=
\frac{\frac{1}{5^1}}{5^0}=
\frac{\frac{1}{5}}{5^0}=
\frac{\frac{1}{5}}{1}=
\frac{1}{5}

it results in 1/5

or, we could have done
\frac{x^m}{x^n}=x^{m-n} and
x^{-m}=\frac{1}{x^m}
so
\frac{5^{-1}}{5^0}=5^{-1-0}=5^{-1}=\frac{1}{5^1}=\frac{1}{5}

the result is \frac{1}{5}

A train travels at 45 mph for 3 h and then increases its speed to 55 mph for 2 more hours. How far does the train travel in the
sammy [17]

Answer:

<h2> 245miles</h2>

Step-by-step explanation:

Step one:

given that the first 3 hours the train travels at a speed of 45 mph.

i.e Time = 3 hours

    speed =45 mph

    distance=?

we know that speed = distance/time

distance= speed*time

distance= 45*3

distance=135miles

Step two:

For the nex two hours it travels at 55 mph

i.e time= 2hours

   speed= 55mph

  distance=?

distance= speed*time

distance= 2*55

 distance= 110mile

Step three:

Hence for a total of 5 hours drive, the total distance covered is

135+110= 245miles
