1. Give an example of a situation which shears would be the best choice and one in which scissors would suffice.(please write a
kogti [31]

Answer:

shears are gardening tools, like scissors but much larger. using shears in a sentence can give the sentence a more mature sound or educated. for example:

mr. ross used the shears to ever so delicately trim the hedges at the McKenna's residence. He had been gardening there for 10 years and had to trim the hedges once a week to maintain the garden to its utmost beauty.

this sounds better than,

mr. ross used the scissors to ever so delicately trim the hedges at the McKenna's residence. He had been gardening there for 10 years and had to trim the hedges once a week to maintain the garden to its utmost beauty.

scissors would be more commonly used in a phrase like,

Ms. Rose was trimming my hair rapidly today. her scissors whisking in and out of my bedhead with such precision. I was in awe of her talent and how incredible my hair looked after!

not,

Ms. Rose was trimming my hair rapidly today. her shears whisking in and out of my bedhead with such precision. I was in awe of her talent and how incredible my hair looked after!
