The Zulu are people who live in what is now South Africa, Lesotho, Swaziland, Zimbabwe and Mozambique. In the past, they maintained forms of survival based on wars. The Zulus, formerly, were a clan founded by Zulu kaNtombhela. Thus, when Chaka, in 1816, became head of the tripo, the orders were for the power to expand to other tribes and clans. Thus, the Zulu Empire was formed.
However, the tribe did not have an army, let alone weapons and war power. Thus, as leader of the clan, Chaka organized ways to train and arm the warriors of the tribe.
