You might be talking about the speech made by the Egyptian
President Gamal Nasser regarding the nationalization of the Suez Canal, a
waterway in Egypt financed by the British and the French. The waterway is a very
important sea route for the Brits and the French, and Nasser want more Egyptian
control. Nasser proceeded with the nationalization and sparked the Suez crisis.
