Read the passage from Ronald Reagan's "Tear Down This Wall" speech. Where four decades ago there was rubble, today in West Berli

n there is the greatest industrial output of any city in Germany—busy office blocks, fine homes and apartments, proud avenues, and the spreading lawns of park land. Where a city's culture seemed to have been destroyed, today there are two great universities, orchestras and an opera, countless theaters, and museums. Where there was want, today there's abundance. . . . From devastation, from utter ruin, you Berliners have, in freedom, rebuilt a city that once again ranks as one of the greatest on earth. . . . In the 1950s, Khrushchev predicted: "We will bury you." But in the West today, we see a free world that has achieved a level of prosperity and well-being unprecedented in all human history. In the Communist world, we see failure, technological backwardness, declining standards of health, even want of the most basic kind—too little food. Even today, the Soviet Union still cannot feed itself. After these four decades, then, there stands before the entire world one great and inescapable conclusion: Freedom leads to prosperity. Freedom replaces the ancient hatreds among the nations with comity and peace. Freedom is the victor. Which statement best describes Reagan’s main message for his audience in this excerpt? The Berlin Wall is a reminder of the past and of the war. The United States is more powerful than the Soviet Union. Democracy leads to greater prosperity than communism does. Berlin is a thriving city that can boast of many accomplishments

The Berlin Wall was a concrete and stone enormous barrier that not only divided Berlin, and post-war Germany, into two, East and West, physically, but it also became the representation of the great division that was taking place between the Western World, led by the U.S and the Soviet world, led by the Soviet Union and Communism. It also became the symbol of a conflict that had initiated in the Second World War and that was fast escalating between the two super power of the time, the United States and the USSR. It also became the symbol of the struggle between two ideologies, democracy and communism. While the Wall was up, the difference between the development of the Eastern and Western sides of Berlin was enourmous. In the East, people were struggling with restriction and the ruthlessness of the USSR, while in the West, the city and its people began to see development and economical, political and social advancement and liberty. Because of this, the correct answer is Democracy leads to greater prosperity than communism does.

1. Based on the information in the exposition of the story, describe the children’s feeling about the war.
DiKsa [7]

Muffin -  Susan Cooper

Answer:

War has been so much a part of their lives so it is normal to them.

Explanation:

Text evidence:

When a war has been going on for more than a third of your life, you feel it’s always been there. It seemed normal, to the children of Cippenham Primary School, that there were air-raid shelters on the school playground, long, windowless concrete buildings half sunk into the ground, and that they should all sit inside, singing songs or reciting multiplication tables, whenever the bombers came rumbling their deadly way overhead.

Argumentative essay that answers the machine is making less liquid oxygen than normal what is wrong
VikaD [51]

Answer:

Liquid oxygen evaporates on a little bit higher temperature than the liquid nitrogen because they both have similar attraction between molecules. It means that different from the normal one, the liquid machine makes less liquid oxygen as a part of it evaporates as a gas.

Explanation:

Liquid oxygen, however, occupies less space as gas, and it makes it lighter for carrying. Also, it can be kept under lower pressure. This is how the liquid oxygen tanks are safer than the tanks with concentrated oxygen that are under high pressure.
