After the Cyclops drank so much until he fell asleep, Odysseus stabbed a sharp stick into his eye, leaving him blind and very carefully and quietly taking the opportunity to flee.
It seems to me that this form of escape was very similar to the one in "A quiet place" movie where monsters that kill humans require their sense of hearing to find their prey.
In one scene, Lee and his son Marcus see one of these monsters head-on. And they have to use stealth and calm to escape the place and go home to their family.
