Collagen secretion by fibroblasts is the dominant cellular process that characterizes this phase of the client's healing. At the proliferation phase of healing, the damaged area within the wound is rebuilt with new granulation tissue which is made up of collagen and extracellular matrix secreted by fibroblasts. The colour and condition of the granulation tissue indicates how the wound is healing. Dark granulation tissue indicates infection or poor perfusion while healthy granulation tissue is granular and uneven in texture with pink or red colour.

Of the following, ________ can change local species diversity but not global species diversity.
Lunna [17]

The complete question is:

Question: Of the following, ________ can change local species diversity but not global species diversity.

a) speciation and immigration

b) immigration and extirpation

c) emigration and extinction

d) extirpation and extinction

e) speciation and extinction

Answer:

b) immigration and extirpation

Explanation:

Global species diversity takes into account the different types of species present in the whole biosphere. Local species diversity is the different types of species present in a specific geographical region. When members of a species migrate from one habitat to another, the local species diversity is changed. New species are added to the new habitat while the same may be removed completely from its original habitat. However, this would not affect the global species diversity.

Similarly, complete removal or loss of a population of a species from habitat is called extirpation and it reduces the local species diversity. However, the population of this species may be present in some other regions of the biosphere. Therefore, the process of extirpation does not affect global species diversity.
