Answer:

1. “He has abdicated Government here, by declaring us out of his Protection and waging War against us.He has plundered our seas, ravaged our Coasts, burnt our towns, and destroyed the lives of our people.

He is at this time transporting large Armies of foreign Mercenaries to complete the works of death, desolation and tyranny, already begun with circumstances of Cruelty & perfidy scarcely paralleled in the most barbarous ages, and totally unworthy the Head of a civilized nation.”

This passage from the Declaration of Independence supports the _PURPOSE_ of the document.

2. D. discomfort can be endured, but abuse will not tolerated

- - -

The passage says that if your government is being abusive or unfair, it is your right to find new people to rule.

3. pathos These lines have a very strong emotional content and this indicates that the rhetorical feature known as Phatos is being used.

In Aristotle's rhetoric, the concept of Phatos translates into the ability of the speaker or writer to provoke emotions and feelings in his audience. Pathos is associated with emotion, refers to the appeal to the emotional side of the target audience. In short, pathos seeks to empathize with the public. When the speaker uses his values, his beliefs and understanding, he moves the audience and communicates with them through a story.

4.

Having laid out the principles of just government, the Declaration turns to the facts of the King of England's government of America. The King is said to aim at tyranny. This means that there is a pattern of events showing that the king has repeatedly denied the right of the American colonies to govern themselves through their own elected legislatures, and that he has repeatedly failed to secure their rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Therefore, in each one of the charges that follow, there is an implicit or explicit claim that the king has either violated the purpose of government ("to secure these rights"), or the principle of government by consent.

5. These lines from the Declaration of Independence are an example of the use of LOGOS.

The logos is the material of the argument, the way in which one reasoning progresses towards the next, as to show that the conclusion to which it tends is not only correct but also so necessary and reasonable as to be the only one. The logos as a persuasive approach seeks to influence listeners through reason.

The logos through the different resources seek that the arguments sound reasonable, because these in turn are elaborated with accepted premises; However, Aristotle also points out that many of the accepted premises are contradictory to each other, so it must also be taken into account when using the logos as a mode of persuasion.

Why does atticus feel he should defend tom robinson? is it usual for (white) lawyers to do their best for black clients in alaba
mr_godi [17]
Atticus knows he probably won't win but he does this anyways to uphold his sense of self-respect and justice

it isnt usual for white lawyers to do their best for 2 reasons i believe:

1) black people are usually convicted so its almost possible to defend them even if they are innocent

2) like a lot of people there were also some racist lawyers
