I have never read that story, but after reading that small clip given in the question and context clues, you can kinda see that Huck will have to make a decision about his Father because it says in the text "</span><span>I used to be scared of him....</span>" and also it says "...<span>but right away after I see I wasn't scared of him...</span><span><span>"

This is just a guess that the answer is D.
