There's a list of countries and dependencies on Wikipedia.
Out of the 249 places on the list, 169 of them (68%) are
smaller than the United Kingdom.

A few of them are:

One country that would be smaller than England are the Maldives, since they are a serious of islands that are only roughly 300 square kilometers in area.

No. It is the other way around. 
When you sell a product to another country, you are exporting your product. The country buying your product is the importer as they are bringing the product into the country by buying it.
