.What does this line tell you about the beings on Mars? Yet across the gulf of space, minds that are to our minds as ours are to
those of the beasts that perish, intellects vast and cool and unsympathetic, regarded this earth with envious eyes, and slowly and surely drew their plans against us. They are interested in humans. They are disinterested in humans. They do not want to be involved with Earth. They cannot understand what happens on Earth.
The line "Yet across the gulf of space, minds that are to our minds as ours are to those of the beasts that perish, intellects vast and cool and unsympathetic, regarded this earth with envious eyes, and slowly and surely drew their plans against us." tells us about being in Mars is that they do not want to be inovolved in Earth. Mars is a totally antagonistic condition to human life, joining outrageous cold with an unbreathable climate and exceptional radiation.
