The Battle of Midway was an air-naval combat that was fought between June 4 and 7, 1942, at the Pacific Theater during World War II. In it, US naval forces stopped the Japanese attempt to invade Midway Atoll, where the Americans had a military base. Chronologically it was fought a month after the battle of the Coral Sea, five months after the Japanese conquest of Wake Island and six months after the attack on Pearl Harbor, which marked the beginning of the conflict in the Pacific between Japanese and Americans. The Japanese defeat was a serious obstacle to their expansion plans for the rest of the ocean and was a "turning point" in the whole conflict. For this reason, Midway is generally considered the most important battle of the Pacific War and one of the most decisive of the Second War.

The primary result of the Battle of Midway in the Pacific was that the US had a decisive victory over the Japanese. This marked a turning point in the war for the US, since they were now "on the offensive" the Pacific.

How did the mountain men view American Indian culture?
Marianna [84]

Answer:

D.) Mountain men had a favorable view of American Indian culture and adopted some of its customs.

Explanation:

Mountain men were men who lived in the wilderness, particularly in the North American Rocky Mountains from 1810 to the 1880s. Mountain men understood the difficulties of surviving in these areas, and because of this, they generally tried to learn the practices of the Native American people of the region. Mountain men were instrumental in allowing American settlers to reach the territories of the far West.
