Answer:

After studying the population pyramids of 1965, 2015, and 2035, it’s clear that the world’s population grew rapidly in both the second half of the 20th century and the early 21st century. The population was just over 3 billion people in 1965. It grew to  7 billion in 2015 . The population is projected to reach 8.6 billion in 2035. The population pyramid also smoothed out over time, showing a stabilization in birth rate and death rate. By 2035, it is projected that more people will live longer and younger age groups will not make up such a large portion of the population. The overall population growth has probably led to stress on resources. If the world’s population continues to grow, people might find it harder to get water, land, and other necessities.

Answer:

Population is entering the stage 4 of demographic transition in period of 70 years.

Explanation:

  • World population pyramid in 1965, shows a high birth rate and high life expectancy which is more for females and fewer for males. A total population of 3, 339,583,510.
  • While the population of the bell-shaped pyramid which has a low birth rate and high life expectancy due to education and better health care. Has a total population of 7,379,796,966.
  • The population projection for the year 2035 is cup-shaped or wedged that is a declining birth rate and almost at stable population growth having a total population of 8,887,524,229.
  • All this suggests that the population is moving to form the high birth rates to low birth rates and later on both the birth and death rates are getting stable over the period of 70 years, as the developing nations have implemented family planning and other measures.

A plate moving at a rate of 4 is moving toward a plate that is 10,000 km away. In how many years will the plates collide?
disa [49]

Answer:

The plates will collide in 250 million years.

Explanation:

Earth is divided into numerous plates. All of them are in constant motion which is driven by the convection currents in the mantle. All plates move in different directions, with some moving toward each other, some moving away from each other, and some slide past each other.

In this case, we have a plate that moves toward another plate, and the other plate presumably is static (not really possible, but still). The plate that moves is moving with 4 cm per year, and the distance between the plates is 10,000 km, so in order to get a result in how many years they will collide, we need to convert the km into cm and then simply divide them by the speed of the plate.

1 m = 100 cm

1 km = 1,000 m

1,000 x 100 = 100,000 cm

100,000 x 10,000 = 1,000,000,000 cm

1,000,000,000 / 4 = 250,000,000

We get a result of 250 million, meaning that the plates will collide in 250 million years.
