Based on the scenario above, these findings indicate the problem of biliary atresia. Biliary atresia is considered to be a rare disease of the liver as well as the bile ducts that primarily occurs in the infants in which the cells of the liver produces bile that is responsible of digesting fat.

Explain how the diaphragm aids in breathing.
zepelin [54]
The diaphragm is the large dome-shaped muscle that rests right under the lungs and separates the abdominal cavity from the thoracic cavity. The contractions of the diaphragm are what truly facilitate the movement of air in and out of the lungs. The contraction of the diaphragm, or breathing in, leaves more room in the chest cavity for the lungs to expand as the diaphragm "tightens". The expanded lungs are filled with oxygen-rich air which is then is diffused through capillaries to different parts of the body. The process of breathing out occurs when the diaphragm relaxes, slowly resuming its position its original position in the chest cavity. When relaxing, carbon dioxide is forced out of the lungs.

Hope this helped! :)

Form a Hypothesis: As the map shows, the sickle cell allele is not found in African populations that are native to southern Afri
kati45 [8]

A hypothesis for this observation might be that malaria is not endemic to southern Africa. It is a plausible explanation of a given scientific question.

Hypothesis and scientific method

A hypothesis is a plausible explanation of an observation of the natural world, which must be tested by using the scientific method.

Testing a hypothesis involves performing additional observational and/or experimental procedures in order to confirm or reject this assumption.

In this case, the sickle cell allele is found in high frequency in regions where malaria is endemic.

List the events of inspiration beginning with stimulation of the phrenic nerves
Andru [333]
The events of inspiration begins with the;
Impulses are conducted on the phrenic nerve to muscle fibers in the diaphragm contracting them.
As the dome shaped diaphragm moves downward the thoracic cavity expands.
At the same time the external intercostal muscles may contract raising the ribs and expanding the thoracic cavity further.
The intra-alveolar pressure decreases
Atmospheric pressure greater than intra-alveolar pressure forces the air into the respiratory tract through the air passages.
The lungs fill with air.
