During the War of 1812, what happened when the British blockade prevented manufactured goods from reaching America?

The British "paper blockade", a demand that every vessel heading Europeans ports should have a British license and be inspected by them, was not well accepted by the Americans. They were earning too many profits to be inclined to follow any side, France of United Kingdom, of the Napoleonic war. Also, the Americans saw this practice as an assault on their dignity and honor.

The first big event following this practice was the Chesapeake-Leopard affair, where one merchant US ship was destroyed by the British warship Leopard, with the excuse of the search for deserters of the Royal Navy. After this, legislators created the Embargo Act in 1806 stopping all exports of American goods and restraining ships from leaving for foreign ports.

Vikentia [17]

Answer:

the Cuban Missile Crisis, also known as the October Crisis of 1962, the Caribbean Crisis, or the Missile Scare, was a 1 month, 4 day confrontation between the United States and the Soviet Union which escalated into an international crisis when American deployments of missiles in Italy and Turkey were matched by Soviet deployments of similar ballistic missiles in Cuba. How did physical geography affect the development of the economies of Mayan city-states?
Vladimir79 [104]

The fall of the Mayan civilization is due to the overpopulation, environmental degradation, warfare, shifting trade routes and extended drought.

How did geography affect the Mayan civilization?

Unlike the Aztecs or Inca, the Maya were never a unified empire, largely because of geography. The dense, thick jungle was simply too great an obstacle for widespread urbanization. The landscape kept the many Maya cities naturally isolated from each other, so each one maintained an independent identity. The rainforest - home to many Maya cities - made crossing land difficult. Geographic features that make travel difficult are called natural barriers. The land of the Maya had many natural barriers.

So we can conclude that: The fall of the Mayan civilization is due to the overpopulation, environmental degradation, warfare, shifting trade routes and extended drought.
