Answer:

Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry shows the success made by the Logan family. Mildred D. Taylor structured the text by making the role of each character clear. Papa, Mama and Big Ma are influential in teaching their children the value of dignity. Cassie grew up over the course of the novel, learning to reconcile the streak of pride inherited from her Uncle Hammer with the rational but dignified approach to racism that her parent adopted. And that racism was something she must at every possible chance and she must also endure it any time necessary.

Taylor also structure the novel such that cassie also learnt from her elders different tactics.

What literary device is a parent in the title of the poem war is kind and what Effect does it have on the readers interpretation
Dmitriy789 [7]

The literary device of irony.

Irony is the expression of one's meaning by using language that normally signifies the opposite, typically for humorous or emphatic effect. This idea of expressing the opposite of what is actually being said/wrote is present on the title: in this case, by the use of the word "Kind".

The effect it has on the reader's interpretation is then to read the poem in a way that recognizes the irony on it.

son4ous [18]

“For, while the tale of how we suffer, and how we are delighted, and how we may triumph is never new, it always must be heard. There isn't any other tale to tell, it's the only light we've got in all this darkness.”

― James Baldwin, Sonny's Blues

“And I was yet aware that this was only a moment, that the world waited outside, as hungry as a tiger, and that trouble stretched above us, longer than the sky.”

― James Baldwin, Sonny's Blues

“Freedom lurked around us and I understood, at last, that he could help us be free if we would listen, that he would never be free until we did.”

― James Baldwin, Sonny's Blues

I hope this helps! :)
