The election that occurred earlier this month demonstrated that elections and democracy are improving in Georgia, but it also reinvigorated concerns about a pattern of one party dominance reemerging. There were moments in the last four years when it seemed to many that Georgia could be moving towards a two party system. The simple fact of the United National Movement’s (UNM) survival, even despite arrests and indictments of several of their leaders, was unusual by recent Georgian standards and suggested that the Georgian Dream (GD) was not as committed to consolidating one party dominance as the UNM had been when they came to power in 2003-4.

Punishing someone for an action that did not used to be a crime is an example of
Naddik [55]

The correct option is "an ex-post facto law."

The ex post facto means after the fact or incident. The law punishes someone for an action that does not used to be a crime when the action was performed. For example, you play in front of Congress and next day legislators make a law which criminalizes the same. So next day you will be arrested under the ex post facto law. Under the US constitution this law has been declared unconstitutional as fairness has been the fundamental principal of US constitution and democracy.

How does the media influence the policy agenda of the President and the public agenda of the American public?
MrMuchimi

Answer:

Today, many political analysts agree in classifying journalism and the media as the fourth branch of democracy, in addition to the Executive Branch, the Legislative Branch and the Judicial Branch. This means, according to these analysts, that journalism exercises a determining power within the framework of democracy, decisively influencing public opinion in society and establishing issues of interest to citizens.

Ultimately, there is a covert manipulation through the dissemination of news, which implies that citizens consume a certain agenda or ideology through them. Thus, the media modify the public agenda, creating needs in the citizenry, which begins to demand these from the politicians, modifying in turn the political agenda of the nation.
