In Spain several vernacular languages are spoken. Spanish is the official language throughout the country, it is the predominant mother tongue in almost all the autonomous communities of Spain. Six of the seventeen autonomous communities of Spain also have, together with Spanish, other languages as co-officers.
También conocido como español, el castellano es el idioma oficial de España ya que se habla en la mayor parte del país. Sin embargo otras de las opciones mencionadas, también son idiomas hablados en España, con un menor porcentaje de hablantes. Es común que sus pobladores sean bilingües, tomando como idioma principal el castellano aunado con alguna otra lengua común en España o inclusive el inglés.
