How did Thoreau’s “Civil Disobedience” pave the way for significant events later in history?

In "Civil Disobedience," Thoreau states that the Government, the State, the Power sits on his throne and enjoys everything from the high, boasting, proud of his strength and the servile obedience of his people. We know it should not be like that, but we do not even know where to start a change ... Thoreau knows, the biggest affront to the government is to challenge his authority by saying, "We will not do it! You are wrong and we are right! ", This is civil disobedience.

This concept paved the way for demonstrations such as the civil rights movement, the suffrage movement, anti-war movements, LGBT + rights movements, among others that dared to challenge the supremacy of the government.

In "Civil Disobedience," Thoreau championed the idea that if a government is not going to improve itself, then it is the duty of the people to refuse to support it. This paved the way for non-violent protests, such as those led by Gandhi and Martin Luther King, Jr.

Juli2301 [7.4K]
Well knowing that people have there own opinions, some people could find it appealing cuz of the fact it seems like a love letter or cuz they find just that intro interresting. but for me its cuz it seems like the person who wrote it really must love their husband so if i were to use an intro like that id do it for the man i love.
