The large-scale movement of waters in the basins of the ocean is known as ocean circulation. The wind mediates surface circulation and the sinking and cooling of water in the Polar Regions mediate deep circulation. The conduction of warm upper waters towards the poles from the tropic is done by surface circulation.

1. In the given question, if large amounts of water are supplemented in the Polar Regions as glaciers melt then the warm water will exhibit a more difficult time in flowing towards north.

2. The effect it could impart in the area is that the local temperature would increase more.

Answer:

1. Cold water from polar regions will sink and the warm water from equator will flow over it

2. Temperature of the area will increase thereby making the climate hot

Explanation:

1. Density of water plays an important role in its sinking. Water coming from Polar Regions is cold and therefore it has high density due to which it sinks down and move with a slow pace towards the equator. Thus, addition of cold water from Polar Regions causes the warm water coming from equator to flow easily towards the pole thereby sinking the cold water.

2. This will increase the temperature of the surrounding/native areas due to rise in temperature of surface ocean water

Which term refers to the condition that exists when no net change in concentration results from diffusion? 1) concentration 2) e
sergey [27]

Answer:

The correct answer is equilibrium

Explanation:

When the two compartments of a cell contain equal solute concentration then the cell is said to remain in equilibrium.

When cell acheives its equilibrium state at that no movement of solute molecules occur to or from the cell.

Equilibrium state helps to maintain the cellular hameostatis by equalizing the concentration of solute molecules and ions in both the intracellular and extracellular region.
