The correct answer is A) Americans opposed the brutal tactics of the Spanish.

The Cuban revolt against the Spanish empire was bound to happen after over a century of mistreatment to the natives of Cuba by the Spanish government. Thanks to the use of yellow journalism, a popular writing style during this era, many Americans opposed Spanish rule in Cuba and favored America intervening to help the Cubans gain independence from Spain.

Actions of the Spanish during the Cuban Revolution affected the American attitude as Americans opposed the brutal tactics of the Spanish.

Further Explanation:-

The Cuban movement to get the independence from Spain in year 1895 got American support and the tensions between United States and Spain further rose when the USS Maine sank and the United States thought that their naval ship sank because of sabotage by Spain and this all resulted in United States declaring war on Spain. The war between United State and Spain proved to be one sided affair and it gave a decisive victory to United States as that war lasted only six weeks and Theodore Roosevelt who was the future President of United States came into limelight because of his role in this conflict. Before this war took place, United States had promised Cuba that it would not annex Cuba after its victory over Spain but in order to do that Cuba had to permit the Intervention of United States in Cuban affairs. The result of this war came in as United States taking charge over Puerto Rico, Guam and the Philippines as its territories. Actions of the Spanish during the Cuban Revolution affected the American attitude as Americans opposed the brutal tactics of the Spanish.

timofeeve [1]

Answer:

 • The Bush coalition in the 2000 election included not only Republicans (his party supporters), but also voters identifying themselves as independents and as socially conservative Democrats.

Explanation:

In the 2000 election, around 90% of Republican voters said they supported George W. Bush. He also got support from about 60% of voters identifying themselves as independents, as well as nearly 30% of voters identifying themselves as socially conservative Democrats. (Source of statistics: Pew Research Center polling, "The 2000 Elections.")

"Compassionate conservatism" advocated for traditional families, welfare reform, strengthening education, and providing assistance to people and countries in poverty. George W. Bush described it this way: "It is compassionate to actively help our citizens in need. It is conservative to insist on accountability and results."
