Conjecture for interior angles of complex polygons

Mathematics

The best way to do this is to draw out a few polygons and divide them into triangles, then add up the angles. If you start with a square, then a pentagon, then a hexagon, then a heptagon, by the time you get to an octagon, you will see a pattern and can make your inference. Remember that to make an inference is to come to a conclusion based on your observation. So grab a piece of paper and a pencil and start drawing!! You will probably find that they actually did you for this in the Geometry textbook:)

We are multiplying by 4 each time

y = a (4)^t

The initial amount is 8

y = 8 (4)^t

We want to get to 100000

100000 = 8 (4) ^t

can the measure of an angle ever equal exactly half the measure of the supplement of an angle (please answer question correctly)
Leni [432]

Answer:

Let the angle be x.

Its complement is 90°-x° and its supplement is 180°- x.

If 90°-x = (1/2)(180°-x) then 180°- 2x = 180° -x => 180°-180° = 2x-x => x= 0°

Hence the statement is true only for 0°
