For earthquakes, there is a lapsed time between the arrival of the
p-wave and the s-wave, because the waves travel at different speeds. The length
of this period of time determine the
distance to the epicenter.
Earthquakes create seismic waves. P waves are faster than S
waves. As the P and S waves move out from an earthquake, the P waves get ahead
of the S waves. The distance of a seismic station from an earthquake can be
determined from the time difference between the time of arrival of the first P
wave and the first S wave.
The three zones of latitude :
i) Tropics till 23º.45 (between ± 23º.45)
ii) Temperate zone between 23º.45 to 66º.55. in both Hemispheres
iii) Polar Caps between 66º.55 to 90º, in both Hemispheres.
There are six major climate regions :
1. Tropical rain forests
2. Tropical grasslands (Savannah)
3. Deserts - China climate (from West to East)
4. Mediterranean climate - Temperate grasslands (Steppes, Prairie, Pampa, Veld, Downs)
5. Temperate rain forests - Taiga (from West to East)
6. Polar Ice caps
The matching is ---
1,2 : i)
3,4,5 : ii)
6 : iii)

Answer:
How do vertical gardens adapt to climate change?
Key benefits of green infrastructure include direct alleviation of urban heat island effect through shading of heat-absorbing surfaces and via plant evapotranspiration; reduction of maximum temperatures in the vicinity by shading walls from the sun; reduced heat entry into buildings through the absorption or reflection
