2160 inches into 12 pieces.

12 pieces = 2160 inches.

1 piece = 2160 / 12 = 180 inches.

But 12 inches = 1 foot, 3 feet = 1yard

3*12 = 36 inches = 1yard.

36 inches = 1yard.

180 inches =  180/36 = 5 yards.

Each piece was 5 yards long.

What if the simplest form of the radical expression?
patriot [66]

Answer:

\large\boxed{\dfrac{\sqrt2+\sqrt5}{\sqrt2-\sqrt5}=-\dfrac{7+2\sqrt{10}}{3}}

Step-by-step explanation:

\text{Use}\ (a-b)(a+b)=a^2-b^2\ \text{and}\ (a+b)^2=a^2+2ab+b^2\\\\\\\dfrac{\sqrt2+\sqrt5}{\sqrt2-\sqrt5}=\dfrac{\sqrt2+\sqrt5}{\sqrt2-\sqrt5}\cdot\dfrac{\sqrt2+\sqrt5}{\sqrt2+\sqrt5}=\dfrac{(\sqrt2+\sqrt5)^2}{(\sqrt2)^2-(\sqrt5)^2}\\\\=\dfrac{(\sqrt2)^2+2(\sqrt2)(\sqrt5)+(\sqrt5)^2}{2-5}=\dfrac{2+2\sqrt{(2)(5)}+5}{-3}\\\\=-\dfrac{7+2\sqrt{10}}{3}

Luis can spend up to $240 buying men’s and women’s shirts for his club. Men’s shirts cost $8 each and women’s shirts cost $12 ea
kirza4 [7]
To find all the combinations you need to solve this system of inequations:

8m + 12w ≤ 240

m ≥ 3

w ≥ 3

w ≥ 2m

The way to solve that system is by graphing each inequation in the same system of coordinates (m,w).

From the combinations listed, 6 men's shirts and 15 women's shirts is the only valid one.

8*6 + 12*15 = 228 ≤ 240

6 ≥ 3

15 ≥ 3

15 ≥ 2(6)

Then, the answer is option C. 6 men's shirts and 15 women's shirts
