Which sentence would best create a strong, descriptive image in the reader’s mind if it were added after sentence 4? He was cast

ing quick, sideways glances in the direction the bus should be coming from, and his left foot beat a steady rhythm on the hot pavement. All of the man’s actions and mannerisms clearly indicated his distress, and I could not help staring at him while we waited for the bus to finally arrive. The man’s behaviors led me to guess that he was anxious about something, and I wondered if the tardy bus could have caused such upset in someone. In fact, he appeared to be so aggravated that I thought for a second that he would explode with anger, but then he just sat down and silently waited.

The answer is C. "the man's behavour led me to guess...upset in someone."

Sentences A and B describe the actions and manners, showing the man's behaviour and anxiety: casting quick glances, his foot beating on the hot pavement etc. appearing he could even explode with anger. At some point (C), he changed and just got calm, wainting silently, leading the speaker to wonder if the cause of all this could be the bus' delay.
