Answer:

  • They were centered Maily in the Middle East.
  • The crusades ushered in the period of the middle ages.
  • The crusades help to spur the renaissance.
  • They Strengthened the position of knights.

Explanation:

The Crusades were religious battles between European Christians and Muslims. The main reason for these battles was the control of the sites that were important both for Christians and Muslims which were located in the Middle East such as Jerusalem and other places.

The Crusades happened during the Middle Ages period - 1096 to 1291. The series of conflicts increased trade because many people were coming and going from and to Europe, which increased trade. Also, the demand for goods increased during the battles which also pushed the manufacturing of other supplies that were needed.

Also, with the Crusades, Europeans came in contact with many fields that were forgotten during the Middle Ages and that was very much developed in the Middle East such as mathematics, medicine, and others, this interest with learning influenced Renaissance.

Knights had their position strengthened because they were the ones responsible for the battles and were considered the ones that defended the Christian faith and became a sort of heroes.
