Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Firstly, you have to know that

There are 10 equally-spaced hurdles on a race track. The first hurdle is 13.72 meters from the start line. The final hurdle is 14.02 meters from the finish line. The race track is 110 meters long

If total length is 110m

First hurdle and last hurdle is 13.72+14.02=27.74m

So the hurdles is evenly distributed at 110-27.74=82.26m

And there are 10 hurdles which will occupy 9 spaces distance

So each hurdle are places

82.26/9=9.14m

So each hurdle is at a distance of 9.14m.

Now, the runner takes 3 strides between each hurdle and he leaves the ground 2.2 m before the hurdle and 1m after the hurdle, this show that, the total distance of hurdle minus the distance in air is what he travelled,

Then, distance travelled is

Hurdle distance - distance in air

9.14-3.2=5.94m

So he took 3 strides

Then, each stride is 5.94/3=1.98m

So, the runner each stride is 1.98m

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Distance before the hurdle = 2.2 m

Distance after the hurdle = 1 m

Strides per hurdle = 3

Distance between hurdles = 35 m

Total Distance of flight in a hurdle = Distance before the hurdle + Distance after the hurdle

= 2.2 + 1

= 3.2 m

Distance in a hurdle = distance between hurdles - Total Distance of flight in a hurdle

= 35 - 3.2

= 31.8 m

Distance per stride = distance in a hurdle/number of stride

= 31.8/3

= 10.6 m per stride.

vesna_86 [32]
This is the derivative of S with respect to r, evaluated at r=8.
dS/dr = 8πr

Which expression represents a negative number?
lina2011 [118]

Its C.

Negative x Negative is positive, so its not A or D.

Positive x Positive is Positive, so its not B either.

C is your option because Positive x Negative is Negative, and vice verca.

Determine the equation of each line
katovenus [111]

Answer:

see explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

the equation of a line in slope- intercept form is

y = mx + c ( m is the slope and c the y-intercept )

(a)

here m = - \frac{3}{4} and c = 6, hence

y = - \frac{3}{4} x + 6 ← equation of line

(b)

here m = 6, hence

y = 6x + c ← is the partial equation

to find c substitute (2, - 6 ) into the partial equation

- 6 = 12 + c ⇒ c = - 6 - 12 = - 18

y = 6x - 18 ← equation of line

(c)

to calculate m use the gradient formula

m = ( y₂ - y₁ ) / ( x₂ - x₁ )

with (x₁, y₁ ) = (- 1, 3) and (x₂, y₂ ) = (4, 7)

m = \frac{7-3}{4+1} = \frac{4}{5}, hence

y = \frac{4}{5} x + c ← is the partial equation

to find c substitute either of the 2 points into the partial equation

using (- 1, 3 ), then

3 = - \frac{4}{5} + c → c = 3 + \frac{4}{5} = \frac{19}{5}

y = \frac{4}{5} x + \frac{19}{5} ← equation of line
