Read this excerpt from a story. Someone had written a petition. It was very official. It stated, "We the people of Harmon Middle

School object to the lack of straws in the cafeteria. We demand that the cafeteria provide straws, as it has in the past." Tons of kids had signed below the declaration. I stared at their looping signatures and could not summon an interest in straws. "Sorry, but I’m gonna pass on this one," I told my friends. "What? Jeremy, you know you want straws back." I didn't. Not really. I never used straws, and the kids who did use them always managed to turn them into spitball launchers. It was kind of gross. What action does Jeremy take in this excerpt? He writes a petition requesting straws in the cafeteria. He encourages classmates to sign the petition. He declines an offer to sign the petition. He tells his friends to stop shooting spitballs.

A psychoactive drug is a chemical substance that influences our brains, how we think and feel.

We can't know what was in their food, so we can't exclude the  possibility that some psychoactive drug was there, but we know for sure that they consumed alcohol, tobacco and caffeine (in cofee) - at least three psychoactive drugs.

jarptica [38.1K]

Answer:

1. Yes, social structures exist in school; for example, in the building itself the principal runs the school which means they must set rules that all students must follow. Below them, there are that administrators follow the principal and make sure those rules are not being broken. Then below them are teachers who teach the students of the rules that they cannot break.

2. The positive is that there is order in society such that if people follow rules then work will go by more simply without risk of something going wrong. The negative side is that people will take their high position too far and abuse their power. Because of this people may feel like they are being controlled.

Hope this helps!!!
