The system requires american to pay less attention to foreign affairs and strenghten our internal infrastructures. This system promote and protect american owned industries, the establishment of national bank, and creation of national infrastructures.

Henry Clay was an American elder statesman and attorney general, representing  Kentucky in both the United States Senate and House of Representatives. He also served as the 9th U.S secretary and 7th  House of Representatives' Speaker of the United States. He led to the formation of the National  Republic Party and the Whig Party and is praised for his defusing role during the crisis and earned the fame of being a great compromiser.

Clay was born on 12th April 1777 in Hanover County, Virginia and started his early life as a legal advisor in Lexington, Kentucky. Among some of his tremendous contributions, he played an important role in the introduction of the “American System”. American system was an economic strategy introduced during the mid 19th century that laid emphasis on the  

i. protection of tariff and promotion of American Industries

ii. foster commerce through National bank

iii. subsidizing of road, canals, etc.

It was his foremost proponent plan, so was referred to as “American System”.
