Answer:  a)  0.5636       b) 0.7881

Step-by-step explanation:

We assume that women’s heights are normally distributed .

Let x be the random variable that represents the shoe sizes.

Also, The population mean = \mu=\text{63.6 inches} ; Standard deviation: \sigma=\text{2.5 inches}

a) Formula for z:-

z=\dfrac{x-\mu}{\sigma}

Put x= 64, we get

z=\dfrac{64-63.6}{2.5}=0.16

Now, the probability that the male shoe sizes are greater than 8 :-

P(z

Hence, the probability that her height is less than 64 inches = 0.5636

b. Sample size : n= 25

Then , the formula for z :-

z=\dfrac{x-\mu}{\dfrac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n}}}

Put x= 64, we get

z=\dfrac{64-63.6}{\dfrac{2.5}{\sqrt{25}}}=0.8

Then, the probability that they have a mean height less than 64 inches.:_

P(z

Hence, the probability that they have a mean height less than 64 inches. =0.7881

Solve the differential equation dy/dx+4xy=x
Irina-Kira [14]
\dfrac{\mathrm dy}{\mathrm dx}+4xy=x
\dfrac{\mathrm dy}{\mathrm dx}=x(1-4y)

This ODE is separable, so you can write

\dfrac{\mathrm dy}{1-4y}=x\,\mathrm dx

Integrating both sides gives

-\dfrac14\ln|1-4y|=\dfrac12x^2+C
\ln|1-4y|=-2x^2+C
1-4y=e^{-2x^2+C}
1-4y=Ce^{-2x^2}
y=\dfrac{1-Ce^{-2x^2}}4

How do I graph the linear equation of y=x+2
Korolek [52]
Replace ‘x’ with what ever number and then add 2, because if you make x a 1 then you would get a three. the equation goes from (x+2)=y to (1+2)=3 so make x whatever you want and then add 2 and you’ll get your ‘y’
