Water usage in the United States has
amm1812

Answer: Remained steady during the last fifty years

Water usage in the United States has remained steady during the last fifty years as indicated in the nation’s water use chart from 1950 to 2010. It was also noticed that the Nation's water use peaked in 1980 and has been fairly constant since then. It was remarkable because, despite an increase in population, industry, and irrigation, water use has not risen.

If you could have asked president Hoover about the plight of bank failure victims, what would you ask?
larisa86 [58]

Answer:

Mr. President, considering the fact that the welfare of the citizens is the government's primary responsibility and a huge financial breakdown such as the one the citizens have just experienced can have a devastating effect on the economy and impact negatively on your leadership, don't you think the poor affected citizens deserve some intervention from the government?

Explanation:

From the excerpt, it is clear that the financial crash in the United States Stock market was caused by the greed of investors. However, there were still some hardworking citizens who merely saved their hard-earned monies in the banks, but lost them when the banks closed up. Definitely, they deserved some help from the government.

President Hoover's belief that it was not the function of the government to regulate businesses was flawed as it would be wrong for the government to simply sit by and watch the economy crash.

Who actually discovered America?
makkiz [27]
The voyages of Christopher Columbus led to the first lasting European contact with the Americas, inaugurating a period of European exploration, conquest, and colonization that lasted for several centuries. Columbus was not the first European explorer to reach the Americas having been preceded by the Norse expedition led by Leif Erikson in the 11th century. Leif Erikson was an Icelandic explorer considered by some as the first European to land in North America (excluding Greenland), before Columbus. There is much debate as some say that many different people, spanning centuries, set foot on the New World (as the Americas were called) before Columbus, and, of course, the ancestors of the Native Americans had already discovered it many years before.
