Hector swears that if he kills Achilles, he will respect his body by returning it to the Greeks for them to be able to give Achilles a proper burial. However, what happened is that Achilles killed Hector as revenge for his friend Patroclus. Additionally, he dragged Hector's body using his chariot and around Patroclus' tomb.
