The layers of the Earth in order, starting at the outermost layer and going inward are:

First outermost layer: crust - it is made of the lightest materials (rock- basalts and granites)

Second layer: moho barrier - this layer lies at a depth of about 35 km below continents and about 7 km beneath the oceanic crust.

Third: mantle layer  - is the largest layer of the Earth and it is composed of very hot, dense rock.

Fourth: core- the core consists of heavy metals (nickel and iron).
