There are many reasons for the fall of the roman empire. One reason is government corruption, the size of Rome alone made it hard to control Rome. It also lost all of its tradition and value to the sudden growth in Christianity. Barbarian tribes were also a problem, because this was about the time the Huns became a threat to nearby countries. Rome was eventually overthrown by a German barbaric leader, meaning that Rome's rule had officially come to an end.

Hope this helps :) if you need to elaborate you can, there's plenty of room for describing each disaster.

Answer:

At the source of everything, the Roman government was incredibly corrupt and ineffective, and Roman citizens did not trust in the leaders of the Republic. In addition, the rise of Christianity and the shying away from the Roman polytheistic religious traditions also contributed, as the latter viewed the emperor as having deistic authority. Finally, because of the sheer size of the Empire, it was incredibly hard to govern on the fringes and the Roman Empire spent too much money bolstering its military might.

Given the understanding that the founding generation cherished freedom and liberty, how could they initially omit a Bill of Righ
olchik [2.2K]

The Anti-Federalists wouldn't support the ratification of the Constitution without a bill of rights added to it because they felt that the Constitution wouldn't list or protect the peoples rights so they wanted their rights clearly listed in the Constitution.

The Federalists didn't think the constitution needed a bill of rights because the people and states kept any power not given to the government as a way to safeguard and ensure that the new nations government would ever become too powerful.
