Read the excerpt from "The Most Dangerous Game,” by Richard Connell. "And now," said the general, "I want to show you my new col

lection of heads. Will you come with me to the library?" "I hope," said Rainsford, "that you will excuse me tonight, General Zaroff. I'm really not feeling at all well." "Ah, indeed?" the general inquired solicitously. "Well, I suppose that's only natural, after your long swim. You need a good, restful night's sleep. Tomorrow you'll feel like a new man, I'll wager. Then we'll hunt, eh? I've one rather promising prospect—" Rainsford was hurrying from the room. What logical predictions can a reader make based on the excerpt? Check all that apply. The general will retire from hunting in the morning. The general will force Rainsford to participate in the hunt. Rainsford will embrace the general’s ideas as his own. Rainsford will attempt to escape from the island.

The logical predictions that a reader can make based on the excerpt are : B. The general will force Rainsford to participate in the hunt. and D.Rainsford will attempt to escape from the island. If you look through the summary of this story, you will know that Rainsford wasn't happy to be on the island in the Caribbean as this Russian general was hunting him. The excerpts shows us that the general is totally insistent and quite powerful and the main plot points point out on the further escape.
