How does the Constitution provide both safeguards and limits to rights? Please answer this in your own words.

It's much more of a safeguard then a limit but there are limits. It says everyone has the right to free speech and that everyone is created equal. it also restricts people from violating others from free speech. 

almost all the amendments tries to keep the government from restricting the people and protecting the people and the people have the right to abolish the government when it tries to take your rights of self preservation (2nd amendment) or 1st amendment of freedom of speech and religion.

In paternalism towards adults it seems as if the adults are treated like children and cannot think for themselves. The southern slave owners thought of themselves as kind and responsible masters even though they bought and sold their human properties.

How did the missouri compromise impact the future of north-south relations in the u.s.?

<span>The Missouri compromise was about whether slavery should continue a part of American society. It allowed the state of Missouri to become a part of the union while retaining slavery, balanced by admitting Maine, which was a free state. It also prohibited slavery in the new Louisiana Purchase states. It was considered deeply flawed on both sides, and merely established the differences that would later lead to war.
