The Iconoclastic Controversy occurred in the Byzantine Empire in the 8th and 9th centuries. The iconoclasts rejected the use of symbols in veneration. These objections arose from Old Testament teachings that prohibited the worship of images. Some believed the practice was similar to idolatry.

Answer: The correct answer is A, The fundamental duties comprising the Pillars of Islam.

Explanation:

The Pillars of Islam are fundamental beliefs that almost all Muslims share. While some of these, Declaration of Faith and Pilgrimage to Mecca, are only needed to be done once, others, Prayer five times daily, are done every day. The remaining two, Charity to the poor and fasting during Ramadan, are done at different times throughout the year. Ramadan is done during the holy month of Ramadan, this is the 9th month of the Islamic calendar, which was when the Quran was written. Charity to the poor is done throughout the year, whenever one can.
