How did the Egyptians view the rising and setting of the sun?

They believed that the world was standing still and that it is curved. That is why on one side it seems as if the sun is rising and on the other it seems as if the sun is setting. They also believed later when Ra was created that it was related to him and that the sun coming out is his birth. There are many myths regarding  this.

Answer:    

    They have believed that the god of Re controlled the sun. They believed that Re had made this world that they lived on. Also they would believe that he had made all life. For the rising and setting of the sun they believed that the Re would rise in the morning and die when the sunset came. My grandfather was in the Vietnam War with a special operations unit and always found that the people back in America hated him. It didn't matter to him because he was doing what he thought was right. He lost some of his best buddies in the war and was called such bad names that I could never type or say. The Vietnam War was the first time that the troops didn't have American support and to many it would have hurt them. It hurt that our morale was low and it probably helped other countries with their morale because America didn't like their military anymore.
