KATRIN_1 [288]
D. 192in^2

This would be a simple area problem with a triangle. REMEMBER THIS EQUATION: a=bh*1/2 (b for base and h for height, these are multiplied together then that answer is halved out.)

So we just need to plug in our values into the equation, so the equation would look like a= (16)*(24)*1/2. 16 times 24 would then give you 384, you could either divide by 2 or multiply by 0.5 to get the next answer, as long as your HALVING the answer.

So we have our bh value so now we can multiply by 1/2 which will give us 384*1/2 which leaves us with 192.

I have also attached a photo of doing a longer(ish) way than this, that also proves that this equation works. Either one will provide you an answer.

Suppose y varies inversely with x, and y=39 when x=1/3.what is the value of y when x=26
vagabundo [1.1K]

Answer:

y = 1/2

Step-by-step explanation:

Varies inversely

xy = k

------------------------

Find the constant of variation

y = 39 when x = 1/3

k = 1/3 * 39

k = 13

-----------------------

what is the value of y when x=26

26y = 13

y = 13/26

y = 1/2

Answer:

The population will be 896 turtles 6 years later ⇒ B

Step-by-step explanation:

The exponential increasing formula is y = a(1+r)^{x}, where

  • y is the new value
  • a is the initial value
  • r is the rate of increase in decimal
  • x is the time in years

∵ There are 300 turtles

∴ a = 300

∵ The population of the turtles exponentially increases 20% each year

∴ r = 20%

→ Divide it by 100 to change it to decimal

∵ 20% = 20 ÷ 100 = 0.2

∴ r = 0.2

∵ The time is 6 years

∴ x = 6

→ Substitute these values in the exponential formula above

∵ y = 300(1+0.2)^{6}

∴ y = 300(1.2)^{6}

∴ y = 895.7952

→ Round it to the nearest whole number

∴ y = 896

∴ The population will be 896 turtles 6 years later
