More than 850 million tons of topsoil had blown off the southern plains in 1935, nearly 8 tons of dirt for every resident of the United States.

Explanation:

More than 850 million tons of topsoil had blown off the southern plains in 1935, nearly 8 tons of dirt for every resident of the United States. In the Dust Bowl, farmers lost 480 tons per acre. For over ten years, severe drought and severs wind erosion haunted the Great Plains, creating horrible dust storms that killed people, animals and plants, while destroying the air quality of the nation.By 1934, it had turned the Great Plains into a desert that came to be known as the Dust Bowl. In Oklahoma, the Panhandle area was hit hardest by the drought. The land of the southern plains, including Oklahoma, was originally covered with grasses that held the fine soil in place. In the Dust Bowl, about 7,000 people, men, women and especially small children lost their lives to “dust pneumonia.” At least 250,000 people fled the Plains.

In the chart below, examine the reactions of various groups to the Marshall Plan. Then fill out the rest of the chart with
Mamont248 [21]

Based on the reactions to the Marshall plan, the following are the explanations:

 • Western Europe - It would lead to their economies recovering.
 • Eastern Europe - Wanted their economies to recover as well.
 • Soviet Union - Did not want to lose control of her Soviet satellites.
 • United States - Would prevent Communism and increase American trade.

Why were nations opposed or in favor of the Marshall plan?

The plan saw the United States sending massive aid to European nations. Both Western and Eastern European nations needed it to rebuild their economy but the Soviet Union refused for the Eastern Europeans to access the plan.

The Soviet Union was worried that the plan would allow for the United States to gain influence in Eastern Europe and so were against it.

The Americans were in favor because a strong European economy meant that America could trade with them and it would also prevent Communism from spreading.

When did the treaty of versailles leave germany's economy?
Arisa [49]

Answer:

The Treaty of Versailles had significant negative economic impacts on Germany. Germany was required to pay the Allies $33 billion in reparations for the war damages caused by World War I. These payments made it very difficult for Germany to take actions that would help Germany's economy grow.
