Here is a quote from an article I read way back in 4th grade I think "Manifest Destiny held that the United States was destined—by God, its advocates believed—to expand its dominion and spread democracy and capitalism across the entire North American continent." I think this kind of explains it, but if you don't get it, it just was the belief that God wanted America to expand its lifestyle to other places.
