The dispute between the empires in Europe made North American exploration appealing because it gave them strength, power and wealth for their empires. By conquering America they gain land and wealth. In history, it was seen that land was more important than wealth because it helped them to expand their empire. Christopher Columbus took a voyage in search of spices, but he reached America and found bullion (gold and silver) which helped them in establishing colonies.
