They used great force to take over other cities around them, taking resources and power at the same time. As time moved on, they took so much land and so many cities that they had gathered great power from this.

<span>Through a combination of war and diplomacy. They fought with neighboring cities and kingdoms and gradually came out the winners. It took 250 years from the founding of the Republic to establish Roman dominance just in Italy, before they began to move out into the rest of the Mediterranean, so it's not like they just triumphantly marched around conquering everywhere rapidly. </span>

<span>But the decisive difference between Rome and other peoples around them were that the Romans offered alliances with other Italian cities and kingdoms that included granting at least partial Roman citizenship to them (the Italian Right). That enabled them to put their expanding power on a more permanent basis, and enabled them to tap increasing reserves of manpower and leadership talent from the Italian allies. Nobody (including Greek city-states) had thought to extend the idea of citizenship in this way -- conquered people became subjects, not citizens, in other empires.</span>

Being multinational organisations the IMF, World Bank and WTO can start programs that not only would focus on providing shelter, food and clothing to the poor but also a good and sustainable source on income. By providing a sustainable livelihood to these poor people these organisations would them be able to provide themselves making them able to no longer rely on charity and donations in order to survive their daily lives. By having a sustainable source of income these poor people can have the ability to gain money which then can be used to buy their own food, clothing, shelter and education. The most important thing that money would give to these poor people is education. Through proper education these poor people would increase their knowledge enabling them to be qualified for higher paying jobs.
