You did not put an equal sign so it's a bit confusing, but I was taught that whoever has lesser value (-4x) should be added/subtracted to both sides. (I think it's because -6x will make the equation worse). I'm so sorry if my answer is wrong btw. And congratulations if you did get it. I'm just answering based on what I was taught.
