The statements are missing in the question. The statements are:

storage medium for energy

absorb energy during assimilation

release energy during decomposition

energy released during photosynthesis

Answer:

<u><em>The correct options are</em></u>

<u><em>A) storage medium for energy </em></u>

<u><em>C) release energy during decomposition </em></u>

Explanation:

Food can be described as any substance which provides an organism's body with nutrition and energy. The body of an organism tends to store the energy in food in different forms so that it can be used when needed by the cells. For example, plants store sugars as starch and convert it into useful forms of energy whenever needed.

Decomposition can be described as a process in which large molecules are broken down into smaller ones and energy is generated by this process. The decomposition of food also provides energy to organisms.

Which best describes the reducing agent in the reaction below?
zhenek [66]
A reducing agent is an element or a compound that looses or donates electrons in a chemical reaction. The reducing agent undergoes oxidation (loss of electrons) in a chemical reaction. Bromine losses an electron and therefore it is the reducing agent while chlorine gains electrons and therefore it is an oxidizing agent.

In the endoplasmic reticulum were removed from the cell which organelle would not be able to function properly and why
zalisa [80]
No endoplasmic reticulum (ER) would result in the cell's death.

There are two types of ER, rough and smooth.

Rough ER (RER) is studded with ribosomes and this is the site of protein synthesis. The RER is very important for proteins that are to be secreted - these proteins have a signal peptide (the first 5-10 amino acids) that gets processed inside the ER lumen - a signal peptidase removes the signal peptide and then this goes to the Golgi to be delivered. No RER - no proteins get secreted to the cell wall - so no transporters, etc. Not a happy cell.

The smooth ER functions in lipid biosynthesis and metabolism. It is also the site of steroid hormone production and detoxification. It is also the site of the initial glycosylation of proteins. If this doesn't happen, the protein doesn't function properly.

No ER = bad news for a eukaryotic cell!
