What did hitler and stalin gain from the secret agreement
docker41 [41]
1. Time - to build up their armies as both expected war eventually between them

2. Poland - the two divided Poland, Russia also invaded Lithunia Latvia but failed versus Finland

3. Resources - for Germany, it received raw materials from Russia that was used in its invasion of western europe

4. eventual Allied concessions made to Soviet Russia at end of WW2 - a Soviet Nazi alliance was simply too much for Britain to fight, even if US had joined the war earlier. When Germany attacked Russia, Britain itself was fighting for its life, so even as Russia must have welcomed allied aid in forms of military aid and equipment, the allied powers were the ones pursuing Russia to become a full pledged allied power ( it was earlier a Nazi ally or even an axis power itself ) Soviet Russia got the better deal in this alliance as eastern europe was conceded to Russia including division of Germany, UK and US were happy just to defeat the Nazis and they considered the huge loss of soviet lives ( instead of UK US lives ) was adequate price for the concessions. in short, by this secret agreement, but secret only in name, russia increased its asking price to join the allies.

What challenges did president Roosevelt face try to win over the American public
zmey [24]
The Presidential election campaign of November 1932 took place against the backdrop of the most severeeconomic depression in American history. While Republican President Herbert Hoover was personally blamed for failing to deal with the consequences of the Wall Street Crash of October 1929, the Democratic candidate, Franklin D Roosevelt promised, A new deal for the American people.

Following a landslide election victory, Roosevelt faced the enormous task of restoring confidence in a shattered economy. At first glance, Roosevelt's privileged background might have made it difficult for him to understand the problems faced by those who were unemployed or poverty stricken. However, in 1921 an attack of polio had left Roosevelt permanently crippled, and his ongoing battle against this terrible illness enhanced his ability to relate to ordinary Americans.

As he entered the White House, the scale of the problem he faced was immense. By the winter of 1932-1933, the country seemed to have reached rock bottom. Roosevelt's personal solution, the New Deal was the largest, most expensive government programme in the history of the American presidency. However, historians do not necessarily agree as to whether the New Deal was a success or a failure.

Independent regulatory agencies are bureaucratic units developed in response to
Pavel [41]

If the independent agency exercises any type of executive powers such as imposition or enforcement (and most of them do), Congress can not participate in the process of habitual dismissal of the commissioners. Constitutionally, Congress can only participate directly in impeachment proceedings. The Congress may, however, pass statutes that limit the circumstances under which the President may dismiss the commissioners of the independent agencies. Members of Congress can not serve as commissioners on independent agencies that hold executive powers, nor can Congress appoint commissioners, the Constitution Appointment Clause confers that power on the President. The Senate can participate, however, in appointments through "advice and consent", which occurs through confirmation hearings and votes on candidates of the President.
