Answer:

B) Lepidoptera

Explanation:

Dichotomous key consists of series of statements that can be used to identify an organism. The statements are in an order that determines broader characteristics first and then moves on to specific characteristics. In this way gradually from a pile of classification, the correct one is narrowed down.

Here, pair of wings were observed first. Since the insect has two pairs of wings, the corresponding action was taken which was to move to step 2. In step two the texture of wings was checked. Our insect has scaly wings which corresponds to 2a. i.e. wings covered in soft scales. Hence, the corresponding order came out to be Lepidoptera .

Why does all of the food produced by crops NOT make it to people?
bogdanovich [222]

Answer:

By the numbers, humans produce a lot of food—enough to provide every person on Earth 2,750 calories per day, exceeding almost all dietary recommendations.

There’s one glaring problem, however: Humans aren’t producing enough of the right food.

When researchers at the University of Guelph in Canada broke those calories down into different food groups, they found a shortage in production of the most important foods. In the long run, with the global population expected to balloon to about 10 billion people by mid-century, this could cause some serious problems.
